Objectives

Objectives

To increase awareness of mycotoxins, toxigenic fungi and food safety, specifically to:

  1. maximize the relevance, outcomes and impact of MycoKey actions to the public, providing information and scientific dissemination;
  2. consolidate a productive partnership to enhance the EU-China dialogue;
  3. encourage and facilitate the participation of stakeholders, communities and end-users of MycoKey tools use;
  4. strengthen international networking and scientific cooperation on food safety.

 
Integrated communication actions will be dispersed by the whole Consortium on a continent-wide scale to enhance their impact, with high emphasis on dissemination of results to end-users, citizens, academics, consumer organisations, industry and policy makers.

WP Leader

Dr. Antonio Moretti (m)

Food mycologist/Plant pathologist. Over 25 years of experience in mycotoxins and toxigenic fungi. His main field of research are morphology, biology, pathogenicity, taxonomy, phylogenetics of toxigenic fungal species and characterization of mycotoxins biosynthetic gene clusters. He is also expert in preservation of filamentous fungi, food mycology, microbiology, molecular biology, PCR methods, biological assays.
